Current Studies Conducted at Hunkeler Eye Institute
Corticosteroid Ointment for after cataract surgery: If you have been diagnosed with a cataract and advised you need surgery, you may qualify for a clinical study using LE ophthalmic eye drops. The 0.5% drops are a corticosteroid approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) as a topical (applied to the surface) treatment for various eye inflammation conditions. The drug being tested in this study, LE ophthalmic ointment, is an investigational formulation of the marketed drug LE ophthalmic eye drops. An investigational formulation is one that is not yet approved by the United States FDA. Participation in this study will last approximately four weeks and will include seven study visits including your scheduled cataract surgery.
There is a stipend for those who complete the study. If you are interested in learning if you qualify to participate in this study, please call 913-338-4733 or 1-800-752-3937 to schedule an initial exam.
