Jeffrey Boomer, M.D., a native of Manhattan, KS, specializes in laser vision correction and cataract surgery. Dr. Jeffrey Boomer earned his B.S. in Microbiology from Kansas State University and went on to earn his Medical Degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City. His internship in internal medicine was completed at the University of Oklahoma’s Department of Internal Medicine, and he served his Residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Oklahoma’s Dean A. McGee Eye Institute.

Dr. Jeffrey Boomer completed his Fellowship in Cornea and External Disease, Cataract, Corneal and Refractive Surgery at the Dean A. McGee Eye Institute, where he received specialized training in laser vision correction. Dr. Boomer’s research has included studies of genetics, optic neuritis in adults and children, and capsular tension ring technology intended to aid difficult cataract surgery.

In recent years, Dr. Jeffrey Boomer has spent time in China as part of Heart to Heart International and Dean A. McGee Eye Institute’s ophthalmic mission. There, he helped train local physicians in cataract surgery techniques and performed cataract procedures on rural patients who previously had not had access to vision-restoring surgery.

In his free time, Dr. Boomer enjoys spending time with his wife Kristen and their three children. He is active in his church and his hobbies include skiing, basketball and golf.
