Dr. Jeffrey Boomer, a native of Manhattan, KS, is a board certified ophthalmologist specializing in laser vision correction and cataract surgery. Dr. Boomer earned his B.S. in Microbiology from Kansas State University and went on to earn his Medical Degree from the University of Kansas School of Medicine in Kansas City. He completed his internship in internal medicine at the University of Oklahoma’s Department of Internal Medicine, and he served his Residency in Ophthalmology at the University of Oklahoma’s Dean A. McGee Eye Institute.
Dr. Jeffrey Boomer underwent Fellowship training in Cornea and External Disease, Cataract, Corneal and Refractive Surgery at the Dean A. McGee Eye Institute. Dr. Boomer's research endeavors during residency and fellowship included optic neuritis and capsular tension ring technology intended to aid difficult catarct surgery. At Hunkeler Eye Institute, he remains involved with many studies, exploring new lens implant technology and medical therepies..
In recent years, Dr. Boomer has spent time in China as part of Heart to Heart International and Dean A. McGee Eye Institute’s ophthalmic mission. There, he lectured and performed surgery in an effort to share clinical and surgical knowledge, and the ophthalmology training system that exists in the United States.
In his free time, Dr. Boomer enjoys spending time with his wife Kristen and their children. They are active in church and his hobbies include skiing and basketball.
